A Motivational Talk by C.V Magavilla, Speaker and Author on "Personal Vision"

Biography

Costantine Magavilla is a business degree graduate, career marketer, author and speaker on a wide range of topics including personal motivation, social development and business management. His career as a marketer spans over 8 years of working with and driving business growth and market leadership for leading corporations in varying industries (FMCG, Banking, and Telecommunication) in the East Africa region at senior management levels. His work experience has included strategic planning and management, segment management, brand management, communication management, project management, relationship management, and general marketing management operations with leading entities in the region: Unilever East Africa Limited, Stanbic Bank Tanzania, Vodacom Tanzania and Zain Tanzania. Through this work experience, he has been involved in a project management capacity on several major product launches, promotions and brand building campaigns that have often involved transnational coordination and large cross functional teams.

Magavilla also has extensive exposure in leadership and social outreach work having held several leadership positions over a time span exceeding 15 years serving primarily youth and non-profit causes. From being Head Prefect of his high school, Secretary General and ultimately President of his University student body to being an founding member of the Youth of the United Nations - YUNA (1997 to date), member of Roots & Shoots (1998 to date), founding member of Tanzania Youth Vision Association – TYVA (2000 to date) and founding organizer of the International Students Week Tanzania – ISWT (1998, 2000, 2002) amongst other initiatives; his motivation has always centered on creating platforms to empower youth. He most recently has served as Vice Chairperson of the United Nations Association of Tanzania Reform Committee (2008). He also has evidenced interest in the performing arts and has written, produced and performed in several short skits and variety concerts (Independence Day Concert 1998, Youth United Against Aids Concert 1999, Is It Justified Courtroom Drama 1999, Tumaini Nights of Talent (TNT) Variety Concert 2000, 2001) in support of social themes like HIV/AIDS awareness and the Environment.

Magavilla uses his diverse experiences to generate insights and value that he shares with individuals and organizations through consultancy, speaking to groups (primarily youth and professional groups), contributing extensively to forums and publications and managing his own website (www.magavilla.com). He has specific interest in his mission, which is communication for purpose and promoting sustainable management and leadership as critical vehicles for development in any society. He has authored a motivational book namely ‘Life & You – a guided journey through self’, and has subscribed as a speaker and consultant at East Africa Speakers Bureau (info@eastafricaspeakers.net), which also represents him and is a consultant for Triodos Facet member of Triodos Group Netherlands (www.triodosfacet.nl).
