The interest of this noble ambition is to honor entrepreneurial excellence in the country, to celebrate the dynamic individuals who are building the future of our nation, and to acknowledge leaders of tomorrow’s marketplace, whose entrepreneurship have seized unique challenges, overcame them, and turned them into catalysts growth opportunities for moving forward. In a sense, this is a dignified effort to highlight and celebrate the work and talents of many great entrepreneurs from our country.
The motivation to undertake this important venture is inspired by our recognition that apart from entrepreneurs’ aspiration to achieve their potential and realizing their dreams, they are central to the progress of our nation and our economy and are our primary practical hope of changing the lives of each and every Tanzanian for better. It is a well known and a universally established fact that all progress start with an entrepreneur. The person who sees an opportunity, conceive of the idea, engage creativity, has the passion, dedication and commitment to see it through, and does not allow challenges and obstacles to stand in the way of a great vision, sometimes a vision that at the time, none among most of us can comprehend! It is from such individuals that just about every company throughout history — even the largest multinational giants — can trace its roots to.
For our nation and for reasons best understood by most of us, entrepreneurs are perhaps more important today than in any other time in our history. These individuals who make things happen; who imagine and create; who see opportunity and they seize it, these individuals who turn economies around and show a glimpse of hope for our future are important for us and generations to come. These awards are intended to recognize such individuals, to demonstrate to them that we value their success, and that we know they are doing what they are doing for all of us, and it is not just for their glory.
This initiative becomes a reality through the support of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania through the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Marketing as well as our current private sector and corporate sponsors including the National Bank of Commerce (NBC), Exim Bank, Mohamed Enterprises T.
