EASB to manage the World Tourism Day celebrations in Tanzania 27 September-1st October 2011
27th of September is an internationaly recognised World Tourism Day. Its purpose is to foster awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value. The event seeks to address global challenges outlined in the United Nations Millennium Development Goals and to highlight the contribution the tourism industry can make in reaching these goals.
In commemorating the World Tourism Day in Tanzania, the Ministry of Tourism and Natural Resources in association with various stakeholders including the Tourism Confederation of Tanzania, Dar es Salaam Executive Tourism Board (DTEB), the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) through the Cluster Competitiveness Program (CCP), Tanzania Tourism Board (TTB) and Office of the Regional Comissioner are organising various activities with an intent to promote domestic tourism along the swahili coast of Dar es Salaam.
These activities will include a press conference by the Minister of Tourism and Natural Resources on 27th of September 2011, exhibitions, city tours, awareness campaigns, round table discussions, dinner gala and the floating activity scheduled for 30th september and 1st october 2011.
