EASB Presents Chris Mauki on Finding Real Love; JB Belmont Hotel, 26th January, 2012
One among greatest thirsty and heart desire that any human being is craving for is the desire for intimacy, the desire to truly love somebody, a thirsty to hear somebody is truly in love with you. Although this has been a hot desire for many of us, the fact is undeniable that the result has always been contrary from our expectations. Some of us have harvest pain out of sincere love we offered, and others reaping tears after being promised laughter. Many people have been asking this question “How is it possible that somebody feels lonely while in a relationship?” probably this is your question too, or you have had similar situation.
As human being we always desire to be close to others, the same desire we have for food or drink. But as it is simple for us to choose or select what to eat or drink, it has been very hard for many of us to prepare or select suitable people to relate with, particularly people that we choose to be in love with. There are number of reasons that affect the value and quality of our relationship with others, same way there are many factors that negatively affect out intimacy in our relationships. Various decisions that we make in different situations, our behaviours and reactions to one another are among the factors that promote or diminish our intimacy. About the Speaker
Chris Mauki is an assistant lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam. His area of specialization is in social psychology and counseling. Apart from teaching counseling as a course, Chris Mauki works as a professional counselor in all social – psychological problems, i.e Marital issues, parenting issues, relationship issues, behavioral problems, addictions, suicidal cases, retirement preparation, career issues and many more. With his expertise as professional counselor, he has been working with different Governmental and Non Governmental organization as well as other corporate institutions in psychological consultancies. In connection to this, Chris is now a consultant to ICAS South Africa, a company that deals with health insurance on workers of financial institutions in Tanzania.
Chris Mauki has also spent most of his time on public and motivational talks; some of these talks were self organized, while in many other places he was invited. His areas of excellence in these talks are; Positive parenting, Relationships, Conflicts and resolutions, Time management, Goals settings, Purpose driven life, Life after campus (For University students), Leadership, Child psychology, Spirituality, Issues on Success, Event planning e.t.c. Some of these topics are available on audio cd and DVD out in the market. His first book that intends to address some of these issues deeply will also be out soon.
In exploring his gifts and talents Chris Mauki has also ventured into media industry. For more than four years he has been conducting his hot radio show namely “Saikolojia na Maisha” with Praise Power Radio 99.2 FM, for many times he has conducted various talk shows with different radio stations such as Clouds FM, WAPO FM and East Africa Radio. Currently Chris Mauki hosts the only hot live show in town called 5Connect by East Africa TV where a wide range of youth issues from political, social, educational, and environmental aspects are discussed. This show is watched by over six countries on every Wednesday at 7pm. Apart from TV and Radio, Chris Mauki is an article writer, for over three years now his articles with social-psychology content have been out to the public through Global Publishers news papers. Many lives have been reported to be transformed out of these works within and outside borders of this Nation.
As part of extra curricular activities, Chris works as MC and event planner; he has planned and mastered uncounted number of events ranging from Governmental, social and corporate. Chris Mauki also works as an Interpreter and Translator for English and Swahili materials.
Educationally, Chris holds his Bachelor degree in Arts with Education, and MA in Applied Social Psychology, currently he is working on his PhD on Decisions and outcomes of divorce (consequences on children).
Responsibly Chris is proud to be a Husband to Miriam Lukindo Mauki, and the two are blessed with a baby girl called Rommy.
